
European Aquatics is delighted to confirm further details for the International Conference for Swimming Coaches, will make its eagerly awaited return from 19 - 21 September 2025 in Warsaw, Poland. Hosted in collaboration with World Aquatics and Poland Aquatics, the event will take place at the Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel, a five-star venue ideally situated just steps from Warsaw Chopin Airport and within easy reach of the city’s historic Old Town and cultural landmarks.

Conference for Swimming Coaches

The conference will present a packed three-day programme blending keynote presentations, technical clinics, and opportunities for meaningful networking. Proceedings will open on Friday 19 September 2025 with a welcome from representatives of Poland Aquatics, European Aquatics, and World Aquatics, before Bernd Berkham of Germany discusses the philosophy and key principles of mid-distance training, complete with example workouts. Lee Taylor of the United Kingdom will then share insights into core temperature characterisation during European Aquatics open water competitions, followed by Brazil’s Alberto Silva examining the evolution of sprint training.

Saturday 20 September 2025 will feature a strong line-up of presentations, beginning with Romanian coach Adrian Radulescu on the challenges and opportunities involved in training world champion David Popovici. Bernd Berkham will return to focus on developing younger swimmers and progression strategies for mid-distance events, and Raul Arellano of Spain will explore how artificial intelligence and neural networks can be harnessed to improve swimmers’ technique and performance. Antonio Lutula of Sweden will provide a fascinating look at Sarah Sjöström’s preparation for the Paris Olympics, before the launch of the EA Innovation Hub, which will include both an introductory presentation and a dedicated meeting. The day will conclude with a networking event and closing remarks from the organisers. Sunday 21 September 2025 will see coaches head to a Warsaw swimming pool for a practical training session.
Running alongside the main programme, the Poland Aquatics parallel session will offer presentations in both English and Polish, covering topics such as infant swimming, youth training methodologies, the role of aerobic endurance in young athletes, open water development, and the integration of complementary disciplines such as artistic swimming and water polo.

Participants can attend the conference onsite or online for a fee of €145, with in-person attendees able to take advantage of preferential accommodation rates at the Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel, which is €150 for a double room or €140 for a single room, both including breakfast.
